At the turn of the century, Prof. Heinrich Sattler dedicated himself to the harmonious measurement and preservation
of time. His development of a clockwork with a perpetual calendar (which automatically allows for variations in the lengths of months in regular and in leap
years until 2100), may be regarded as the crown of his life's work.
Heinrich's enthusiasm for horology passed to his grandson Erwin. In 1958 Erwin Sattler and the sculptor Oscar Schönfeld met in Munich, which led to the founding of
the firm Erwin Sattler, Stiluhren.
Schönfeld had already begun to make high quality clocks in the twenties. Due to the success of these clocks, Erwin
Sattler added some of these to his collection and also worked intensively on
creating new models.
With the decision to make fine precision clocks in 1988, he set up his own workshop, where the traditional
clockmaker's art and the latest manufacturing techniques, come together to create high quality clocks.
Since then Erwin and Viola Sattler, Stephanie Sattler-Rick and the clockmaker Richard Müller have been responsible for the cultivation of
precision clock making which is a personal concern for them and for all other co-workers.
